Job & Mom

I'm very busy right now with the new job, but wanted to post something. Mom's test went well, and she can control her heart disease with medication and doesn't need a procedure - yet.

Started my new daytime job last week and it’s awesome. I am working for a marketing firm called Interamark writing white paper, brochures, PowerPoint stuff, etc. Tons of fun so far and it beats the he!! out of the mortgage industry!!! Not to mention I do it from the comforts of my home office.

Got an interesting offer from a NYC production company to be a historical reference/consultant. I'll know more as time goes on.

The Bailey-Trixie feud continues, but the hissing and growling have gotten less frequent. Bailey is our 3 year-old cat and Trixie is our 9 month old kitty. Bailey is not a happy camper with the newcomer!

New Job

Let's see. I've been busy changing from one job to another over the last two weeks. As I alluded to earlier, my new job is going to be very cool. It will seem strange not going to an office. He!!, I've been doing that for the last 24 years of my career. Yesterday was my last day there and I said goodbye to many people I have know for 16 years.

I've been getting things in order today for my new job with Interamark and I even have an official email address for them now! That makes it seem real and I have two calls with my new team members on Monday.

I still can't believe that I have found a job where I get paid to have fun and do what I love!!!

My mom is having a 64 slice CT scan to look for heart blockages on Monday morning. I hope all goes well.

More later...

Great news!

Okay, I've been alluding to something good about to happen and it finally did, and now I can share it. I start a new job later this month for an awesome marketing firm. I will finally get paid to be a writer! Yes, I know you're probably thinking "What about your books?" Well, I do get royalties, but I still can't quit my day job if you know what I mean.

Anyway, this is such a delight - getting paid for my talents and I get to enjoy what I do for a living. And, I also get to do it from my home office. No commute anymore, no freezing while my co-workers say, "It's hot in here."

Well, Monday will be exciting and strange. I will have to say goodbye to some people I will truly miss, but it's only 30 minutes away and I plan on having lunch with them. It's strange for me, I have been with my company for 17 years, and now I am leaving. I'm both happy and sad, well mostly happy...

Okay, tomorrow is my deadline to finish my latest manuscript about Pioneer Women in the West.
