Saturday we drove to Washington, D.C. for the Redskins football game. We got to eat at one of my favorite places--it's called the Houndstooth Cafe. They have some awesome BBQ and clam chowder. We stayed in Maryland Saturday night, then headed to FedEx field on Sunday morning. We tailgated, like true football fans do...it was a real scorcher.
We got into the stadium and got to see our new seats for the first time. Holy cow - we were about 20 seats from the field. When the ball is thrown in our direction it looks like it's coming right at you. You can also hear the crunching of the players equipment. Next game I will take some pictures so you can see.
The game was awesome, but it had to be 99 degrees on the field and in full sun for four hours. We each drank two bottles of water, which cost $5 a bottle. That wasn't nearly enough water to hydrate us in those conditions. Later that night and yesterday we suffered some dehydration issues. I am feeling better today, but still not 100%.
Yesterday I stumbled across a new book review for Taste of Tombstone in a Tucson paper. http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/ss/recipes/96216.php The reviewer was very kind.
I will attempt the gym today...
